The Little MisFortunate

Chimi Dem...The Little MisFortunate

At a first glance, I thought little Chimi Dem was a boy (only to be realized later that she was not what I thought. She was a girl). Our School Caregiver Mrs Kinley Wangmo was holding little Chimi Dem, eyes full of tears, in her arms. Not knowing what to do, she bought little Chimi Dem a Wai Wai, as she was found crying desperately beside her mother. The Mother was drunk. It seemed to me that she has been beating her little girl. Unable to bear the sight, Mrs Kinley Wangmo picked little Chimi Dem and bought her a Wai Wai.
After some inquiry, I discovered that, this little girl (Chimi Dem) had been the same girl I saw a year ago, well looked after by a kind shopkeeper. That time she had sore all over her face and mouth. The shopkeeper was kind enough and was treating her like her own child. Here again, I come across her. This time her mother was there physically but was out of her mind. Mr Alcohol seems to have taken control over her and she no more sees anybody. Not even her child.
Today, with streams of tear rolling from her cheeks, Chimi Dem is fortunate, for the time being, until the mother become sober, Mrs Kinley Wangmo took charge of washing and feeding at her house. When asked, little Chimi dem insists on going with "Aunty" (Mrs Kinley Wangmo) but not with her mother. She says her mother is drunk and beating her. She doesn't like to go near her at all.

Little do little Chimi Dem knows about what is in store for her. She was fortunate that she was brought into this world. (I could see in her eyes, the sparkling twinkle. The flickering light of hope and ambition)...Unfortunate that she has to undergo such circumstance at this early growing stage of her life.
So I shall meet her again. This time it will be tomorrow. Let see what we can do when her comes looking for when sober. Until then CIAO! May the lady luck smiles on Little MisFortunate Chimi Dem, her future is like the wandering clouds of summer.
