What am I doing?

random thoughts...a scribbling I keep on asking these questions over and over. Procrastinating! Yes. Thats it. I am procrastinating. And I have been doing since I started to create this blog. I created this blog to fire up my passion for reading and writing. But as time passed I became stronger and stronger in being a procrastinator. Many a times, I opened up my laptop and signed in the blog. And every-time I did that, my mind became blank. Simply blank! I had many stories to write. Many memories to share. Many moments to pin. I wanted to do all these. But writing them and penning them all in my blog became an everyday struggle. Struggle, because I simply lacked the motivation, determination and confidence to do so. Here I am today. I wanted to pen down all what I really wanted to. But I simply do not understand WHY? Why it has become difficult for me to start...maybe I am confused, so as to, where to begin? or how to write? Or am I seriously caught up in the mess of the complex

An Award for my Country

Image
"The Australian Awards is not for an individual. It is for your country..." remarked Tony Crooks, Team Leader for South and West Asia at Taj Tashi on November 21 2017 to 28 Awardees during the Pre-Departure Briefings. His inspiring speech still lingers vibrating in my ears. The sole purpose of winning an Award is not for self development but to 'give back' what I have received so far. 13 years of free education. 4 years of free training in Bachelors of Education. Another 3 paid winter months of Post Graduation course. My past decade or so of service in the teaching profession has not sufficed what I intended to 'give back'. I have much more to 'give back' in times to come. And my winning of this prestigious Award is indeed going to be added into my endeavour to serve what I am groomed for. To serve unfailingly to My King, My Country and My People. Thank you Australia for the support and the award. Long live Australia Bhutan Diplomatic Friend

A brief beginning at Dechentsemo Central School

Lately I have been involved in volunteer work with Bhutan Toilet Organisation founded by one of my buddy Passang Tshering who is popularly known as Passu. Ever since I got involved in his endeavour to make Clean Toilets in Bhutan, I am very much impressed by his dedication. I salute for his great, yet simplistic initiative to not only to educate but also make all Bhutanese responsible in maintaining clean toilet. I actively went around, participated in this initiative and also took part in coordinating cleaning toilets outside my very own home school. With the help of volunteers from institutions we did very well. Not only did we cleaned toilets clean but also went on to spread words on the logic of having clean and better toilets. As a cliche runs, 'healthy habits begin with clean toilets' , I with the help of the School Health Coordinator, initiated a mass proper cleaning school toilets today. With around 40 class X ( A/B Girls and C boys and Girls ) students, we were able

The Great Dictator's Speech

"I’m sorry, but I don’t want to be an emperor. That’s not my business. I don’t want to rule or conquer anyone. I should like to help everyone - if possible - Jew, Gentile - black man - white. We all want to help one another. Human beings are like that. We want to live by each other’s happiness - not by each other’s misery. We don’t want to hate and despise one another. In this world there is room for everyone. And the good earth is rich and can provide for everyone. The way of life can be free and beautiful, but we have lost the way. Greed has poisoned men’s souls, has barricaded the world with hate, has goose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed. We have developed speed, but we have shut ourselves in. Machinery that gives abundance has left us in want. Our knowledge has made us cynical. Our cleverness, hard and unkind. We think too much and feel too little. More than machinery we need humanity. More than cleverness we need kindness and gentleness. Without these qualities, lif

She is the One!

Khina Maya Tamang, 45 She is from Dagapela and lives at Walakha ( 2.5 Kilometres away from Khuruthang Vegetable Market and the Public Toilet ). She has a child and earns around 6450/- per month and her last month's salary is yet to receive. She sweeps the entire vegetable market area and also looks after the only public toilet at Khuruthang. It almost takes a week for her to sweep the entire market. Sometimes she finds it unmanageable when vegetable vendors starts coming in for the weekend sale before Saturday.   Maintaining the only public toilet all by herself is also difficult. She can't help but helplessly watch as people come in and go out of the toilet. She watches them helplessly for she can speak no more than a word or two at a go for she suffers from speech impediment. Her ability to hear is also very low. Tears fills her eyes when she narrates how people as if like animals uses sticks and stones instead of water (for there is continuous flow of water in tap
