The Perfect Girl


A friend asked a gentleman how it is that he never married. The gentleman replied, “Well, I guess I just never met the right woman… I guess I’ve been looking for the perfect girl.”
“Oh! Come on now,” said the friend, “surely you have met at least one girl that you wanted to marry.”
“Yes, there was one girl once; I guess she was the one perfect girl. The only perfect girl I really ever met. She was just the right everything. I really mean that she was the perfect girl for me.”
“Well, why didn’t you marry her,” asked the friend.
“She was looking for the perfect man,” he said.

A brief beginning at Dechentsemo Central School

Lately I have been involved in volunteer work with Bhutan Toilet Organisation founded by one of my buddy Passang Tshering who is popularly known as Passu. Ever since I got involved in his endeavour to make Clean Toilets in Bhutan, I am very much impressed by his dedication. I salute for his great, yet simplistic initiative to not only to educate but also make all Bhutanese responsible in maintaining clean toilet. I actively went around, participated in this initiative and also took part in coordinating cleaning toilets outside my very own home school. With the help of volunteers from institutions we did very well. Not only did we cleaned toilets clean but also went on to spread words on the logic of having clean and better toilets. NIIT (Chigphen rigphel Project) Crash Course Tutorial

It all started on 29th January 2013 with two resource persons from Tshenkharla MSS. We were 15, mostly women and only 5 of us were men. The class began when other friends who have already attended were heading home after the PGDE program. 15 of us got stuck here, shivering and feeling the cold wintery wind creeping through the pajamas. Old mates, Sherab Tenzin, Ishor Kumar, Rinchen Lhamo and Yangchen Lhamo are also attending this course. We are trying to have fun despite the cold. Lady luck was not much on our side for we couldn't continue with our course. Announcement was being made that there will be no power supply during the day and will only provide in the evenings. So we had to change the plans to take it in the evening from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm. As I write this in my blog, I am already feeling the numbness on my fingers because of the cold. My legs down the knees are hit by extreme cold wind. My tummy is rumbling and feeling giddy at times, maybe I am hungry...hahahahaaa.....

Student Orientation on 10 core Life Skills

Today the classes were called off. The teachers who attended the workshop on SPEA and Life Skill held at Samdrup Jongkhar last winter are presenting on the basic requirements for the students all round development in their daily learning. The main objective of today's orientation was on to create awareness among the students about their adolescent period. Many of the youth related issues stems from when the students are not well aware of their strengths and weaknesses. Today's program is to let them realize and make a reflection on their daily lives. It is a good program indeed for the students. The topics presented to the students were some of the basic essentials in their daily lives. They must know and realize it. They can't simply keep it aside and ignore. First there was the presentation on the 10 Core Life Skills that they needed to comprehend. Second presentation was on the GNH in schools.
